Step 8 - Monitoring

For projects whose main activity is avoiding deforestation, changes in the direct surrounding landscape will be monitored using satellite imagery every month of a year for 20 years of the project. This is done to ensure that deforestation has not shifted elsewhere and does not remain unnoticed.
